The work

Help build speech data for voice AI

Our work centers on spoken language. Task types and availability depend on the project.

Voice recording

Record scripted prompts or take part in a conversation in your language. Each project defines the speakers, devices and recording conditions it needs.

Read the voice recording guide

Audio transcription

Listen to recordings and write or check what was said, following the project’s rules for words, speaker turns and timestamps.

Read the transcription guide

Speech annotation

Label features of speech, such as who is speaking, when a turn starts or which sounds occur. The project guideline defines the labels and how to apply them.

Questions

Before you register

How do I register as a freelancer?

Create an account at portal.spirelight.net, then use the verification link sent to your email to finish signup. The form asks for your name, email, password, date of birth, gender, languages and location. Read the portal's terms and privacy policy before submitting your details.

What kinds of speech projects can I contribute to?

SpeechData.ai collects speech recordings and provides transcription and audio annotation. Tasks can involve reading prompts, taking part in conversations, writing transcripts or labeling speech. The requirements depend on the individual project.

Can I take part from home?

Register your interest in remote speech projects through the contributor portal. Check each invitation for the required location, language, device and recording environment before accepting. A remote project can still require contributors from a particular country or region.

Does registration guarantee work?

No. We invite contributors to projects, and the fit depends on each project's requirements. Registering does not guarantee an invitation, a fixed number of tasks or ongoing work.

How much do contributors earn?

Check the payment terms for a specific project before agreeing to take part, including the amount, the unit of work, acceptance rules and payment timing. The dataset prices on SpeechData.ai are customer licensing prices, not freelancer pay rates.
